Alexandra Bernal Pardo is an economist and politica l scientist. She has a Master’s
in Political Science from the Universidad de los Andes and a Master’s degree in
Peace, Security, Development and the Transformation of International Conicts
at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. She is cur rently working on a thesis on
photography as a tool for the transformation of conicts. She has professional
experience in the formulation and design of public policies and processes for
peace-building wit h the national and international civil societ y, public institu-
tions and the business sector. She works at the NGO Red PaPaz.
Juan Camilo Cárdenas is a professor at the Universidad de los Andes and has a
Ph.D. in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Am herst.
He has been a visiting professor at the same university a nd at Harvard Univer-
sity, and has been an International Fellow of the Santa Fe Instit ute. His research
is based on economic experiments, survey s and workshops whose objective is
to understand the human processes which allow for the construction of just,
sustainable and ecient institutions for the mana gement of collective interests,
and, in part icular, the natural surroundings of society.
Ralf J. Leiteritz is a professor at the School of Political Science, Government and
International Relations of the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá. He is also t he
director of the Master’s and doctoral programs in Politica l and International
Studies at the same university. He has an undergraduate degree in Political
Science from the University of Potsdam, a Master’s degree in International
Relations from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in Development Studies
from the London School of Economics and Political Science. His most recent
research deals with t he political and economic relations between China and
Latin A merica.
María del Pilar Lozano is a politic al scientist from the Universidad de los Andes,
with a specialization in eory and Experiences in the Resolution of Armed
Conicts. She studied Defense and National Security at the Escuela Superior
de Guerra of Colombia and has a degree in the Management of Social Networks
