ABSTRACT
New technologies determine various impacts and challenges for the insurance
contract worldwide. The blockchain, Smart property and smart contracts,
the metaverse, among other phenomena, bring with them a new vision of the
celebration, commercialization, claim and payment in insurance contracts.
Traditional insurers must also adapt to new demands for service, eciency
and speed, as well as the emergence of new actors who seek to ll the needs of
insurance consumers with greater agility and lower costs. It is necessary for
the legislator to issue the regulation that allows the proper functioning of these
technologies within the insurance activity in Colombia and in other national
contexts that require it.
Keywords: New technologies, insurance contract, Blockchain, smart contracts,
insurtech, Internet of things, articial intelligence, metaverse, smart cars,
cryptocurrencies.
