In the second semester of 1983 the first edition of the Iusta magazine was published by the law faculty of our university and since then the magazine was published every semester until 1993.

The purpose of Iusta was from the beginning to generate a space for the discussion of the juridical and social problems of the country. For this reason, subjects were faced from a sociological and juridical perspective, including criminology, land owning, process law, economic law and constitutional law. There were important contributions by jurists from Europe, Latin America and especially from Colombia, which made the magazine a relevant media of production and diffusion of juridical thoughts.

In the second semester of 2004 the Iusta magazine took again its steps with similar intentions to those of its beginnings, although, with the influence of a new reality. From the editorial committee, it was proposed to response adequately to the juridical, social and economical problems of the country, in a context of profound social changes and state changes, due to the globalization. All this forced us to think about subjects like the International Penal Court, the Free Trade Agreements, the economical, social and cultural laws, the alternative mechanisms for solving conflicts, the penal law of the enemy, the fight against terrorism and its influence on law, the juridical pluralism and the new constitutionalism, between other subjects.
