Abstract
The article analyses the position of the political
elites o f Poland and Hungary, who see the
strengthening of Europ ean integration processes
as a threat to national sovere ignty and national
identity. T he authors link the emergence of
interest to the p roblem of t he crisis of national
identity with the intensification of the activities
of right-wing political parties and movements in
these countries, which are trying to introduce the
idea of right-wing populism into the public
consciousness. The beliefs about the unity of
society and the revival of traditional values form
the basis of right-wing populist ideas. The
methodological basis of the study was the
comparative method and framing analysis. The
comparative method allowed comparing the
political rhetoric o f the elites of Poland and
Hungary, and with the help of framing anal ysis,
the essence of the problem of t he crisis of
national identity was specified by highlighting its
basic parameters. It is proved that the socio -
political discourse around the pro blem of
national identity has some differences in these
countries. This is due to the historical and
cultural background of these countries. It is
emphasized that right-wing populist parties and
movements offer certain ways to respond to the
problem of loss of national sovereignty and
national identity, namely the consolidation of
society based o n cultural an d religious values,
strong advocacy o f state int erests in the EU
structures, pressure on the EU within the
Visegrád Group, and others. The authors believe
that the broad socio-political discourse on the
problem of national identity is a manifestation of

У статті аналізується позиція політичних еліт
Польщі та Угорщини, які вбачають у посиленні
євроінтеграційних процесів загрозу для
національного суверенітету та національної
ідентичності. Автори пов’язують виникнення
інтересу до проблеми кризи національної
ідентичності з активізацією діяльності правих
політичних партій та рухів у цих країнах, які
намагаються впровадити у суспільну
свідомість ідеї правого популізм у. В основі
правопопулістських і дей лежать уявлення про
єдність суспільства та відродження
традиційних цінностей. Мет одологічну основу
дослідження склали порівняльний метод і
фреймовий аналіз. Порівняльний метод
дозволив співставити політичну риторику еліт
Польщі та Угорщини, а за допомогою аналізу
фреймів було конкретизовано с утність
проблеми кризи національної іде нтичності
через виокремлення її базових параметрів.
Доведено, що суспільно-політичний дискурс
навколо проблеми національної ідентичності
має деякі відмінності у зазначених країнах, які
полягають в історико-куль турній специфіці.
Наголошено на том у, що правопопулістські
партії та рухи пропонують шляхи реагування
на проблему втрати національного
суверенітету та національної ідентичності,
серед яких консолідація суспільства на основі
культурно-релігійних цінностей, жорстке
відстоювання інтересів держави у структурах
ЄС, тиск на ЄС у рамках Вишеградської
четвірки та інші. Автори вважають, що
широкий суспільно-політичний дискурс
навколо проблеми націо нальної ідентичності є
проявом «політики ідентичності», метою якої є
