Abstract: Articial intelligence is not being developed by governments, but mainly
by private companies. If this technology, under these conditions, is eventually in-
troduced, as expected, in the Courts, there is a risk that democratic institutions will

lose, at least in part, control over adjudication to the benet of one or more of these
companies. This sets a scenario of a future reality that could be truly dystopian. It
will not be our institutions of popular representation that will hold power, nor these
machines, but private capital highly concentrated in a very small economic elite.
